What is copywriting?
Copy is just another word for the text that is used in a published format. It is also called ‘content’. A copywriter will write this text in a professional manner, so that your marketing document will:
- send out the message you intend
- be aimed at your target clients
- be well structured, sharp and logical
- contain no deviation, hesitation or repetition
- exude quality and competence.
Writing your own copy is as easy as flying a kite, isn’t it? Well, actually flying a kite isn’t that easy … although it’s always fun having a go.
When flying a kite it helps if you know what you’re doing, and to have someone else to help launch it, bring it back to you when it’s crashed, or climb a tree or get scratched by brambles. And it will take ages to unravel the line.
So, to avoid getting in a tangle, why don’t you let me help you with the copy for your marketing materials? I’m pretty good at unravelling the tangle of string you get after you’ve tried to fly a kite. I’m also good at untangling words to help you say what you mean. And it’ll be fun.

Like kite-flying, copywriting can be done by following step-by-step instructions from a book, but the results won’t be thrilling, and won’t get your business the attention it deserves.
